Cookie Policy

What this website actually stores in your browser — no more, no less.

Effective date: 9 September 2026

1. Summary

This website does not run any advertising, marketing, or third-party analytics cookies or tracking pixels. We reviewed the site’s code to confirm this before writing this policy, rather than describing cookies generically. Because only strictly-necessary/security storage is used, we have not added a cookie-consent banner — the sections below explain what is actually stored and why.

2. What this site actually stores in your browser

Authentication (strictly necessary), staff only. Signing in to manage events stores a session token in the browser (via IndexedDB), through our database provider (Google Firebase Authentication), so the session stays signed in. This never happens for a visitor browsing the public site.

Bot protection (security), where enabled. RDAA may enable Google reCAPTCHA v3 (via Firebase App Check) to help distinguish real applicants from automated/bot submissions on the /apply form. When enabled, Google reCAPTCHA sets its own cookies/local storage for this fraud-prevention purpose, under Google’s own privacy terms. This runs invisibly in the background (there is no puzzle or checkbox to solve) and is not used for advertising or tracking your browsing elsewhere.

What we do not use: no Google Analytics or similar analytics tool, no advertising/retargeting pixel (Meta, Google Ads, etc.), no session-replay or heatmap tool, and no cookie used to remember marketing preferences — none of these are present in the site’s code.

3. Categories, for reference

  • Strictly necessary / authentication: the Firebase Authentication session used only by signed-in staff.
  • Security: Google reCAPTCHA v3, where enabled, on the public /apply form.
  • Preferences: none currently used.
  • Analytics: none currently used.
  • Marketing/advertising: none currently used.

4. Managing storage in your browser

You can clear cookies and site data for this website at any time through your browser’s settings. Doing so will simply sign an admin account out; it has no effect on the public site’s functionality. If we ever add analytics or marketing tracking in the future, this policy will be updated first and a consent mechanism will be added before any such tracking loads — see our Privacy Policy for how we’ll communicate that.
